Volunteer
The Annex Teen Clinic currently has immediate openings for Rap Session Facilitator volunteers! Interact with local high school students during their lunch hours and provide sexual health information and education about the Annex. Opportunities available Mon-Fri approx. 10:30 - 1 pm, 1-3 times per month. Contact Laura Centrella, Volunteer and Development Coordinator, for more information (laura (at) annexteenclinic.org).

heard among youth. These are the talented health care philanthropists, educated community givers, and time
donors, who are all working for the same mission. Thanks to our volunteers we have made a profound impact
among the youth in our community. The Annex Teen Clinic is a respected name among schools, adolescents,
parents and faith communities in northwest Hennepin County and north Minneapolis. This would not be
possible without the commitment of our volunteers. We welcome and encourage a diverse pool of

Physician / PA-C / Nurse Practitioner
Performs routine reproductive examinations, family planning, STI diagnosis and treatment. Requires experience in family planning and STI prevention and treatment. Experience with adolescents helpful. Once per month, Tuesdays 6:30 - 9:00 pm.
Registered Nurse / Nurse Educator
Provides intake interviews, takes social and medical history, STI and pre-HIV testing, and referrals. Performs basic lab duties, teaching about contraception and STIs. Clinical experience required. Once per month, Tuesdays 5:30 - 9:00.
Administrative Assistant
Administrative and clerical projects including usage of Microsoft Word and Excel, chart organization, filing, folding, data entry and assist in reception as well as back-up phone answering duties. Requires respect for confidentiality, organizational and communication skills. Once per month, Tuesdays 5:15 - 8:30 or scheduled during weekday hours by request.
Birth Control Educator
Provides information on services, male and female anatomy, decision-making and all methods of birth control in small group setting. Once a month, Tues or Thur 5:30 - 7:00 pm; Mon or Wed afternoon 3:30 - 5:00 pm.
Rap Session Facilitator
To facilitate interactive Rap Sessions at five local area high schools during student lunch periods as health education and outreach volunteers. Rap Sessions provide early intervention to reduce the pressure of high-risk behavior that may result in unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Topics addressed during interactive Rap Sessions include, but are not limited to: Alcohol Tobacco and the Media, Bullying, Harassment and LGBT Issues, Healthy Relationships, HIV/AIDS, STIs, "Let's Talk Month," and Teen Pregnancy. Once a month, Mon-Thurs availability 10 am - 1 pm.
Celebration of Change Facilitator
Serves as a small group facilitator for Celebration of Change, a puberty program for mothers and their daughters, ages 9-12. Held three times per year.
Board Member
Attends monthly meetings, determines policy and oversees functioning of clinic. Serves on committees and active board for rapidly evolving organization.
Youth Volunteer (18 & under)
Provides project support to Annex Teen Clinic staff, evaluates health education materials, positively represents the Annex Teen Clinic in the community, acts as a resource to peers.
Peer Educator
Serves as a resource among peers regarding teen health issues such as abstinence, birth control, pregnancy, STI prevention, relationships, paternity education, families, and decision making. Receives training through the Annex and other community agencies. Opportunities to present at local schools and health fairs.
